Our lucky Year 6 children have had a brilliant morning on their last trip at Wellgate. They enjoyed knocking down the pins - we even had a few strikes. They also enjoyed a lovely lunch. We hope you all had a fab time!

Last week, our incredible Year 5 and 6 children put on their end of year production, 'Let the Games Begin'. They all worked so hard to learn all of their lines, songs and dance moves making it a huge success. Some of them even took on a backstage role ensuring that the props, lightening and music ran seamlessly. Well done to everyone that took part on or off stage. We are so proud of you all.
Year 6 had a fabulous day centred all around our love of reading and vocabulary. We enjoyed an online author workshop, a very competitive reading quiz, and we enjoyed being illustrators this afternoon making outstanding artwork based on 'The Day the Crayons Quit.' The children also made reading stars; why not ask your child about the target they have set themselves? We also received some really exciting news this week about a writing competition that Year 6 have been involved in across our Trust. The competition is being judged by a local author, Katie Booth, and it was great to see so many of our children being chosen as finalists. There are certainly some budding authors at Wellgate who should be very proud of their achievements. The second half of Autumn term we have continued to work hard. Recently, 6BCCL performed their class assembly to parents and carers to showcase their learning so far this year. Take a look at the photos to see how amazingly they did! Thank you to all the parents who attended this morning and we are sorry for those unable to watch.
The class shared lots of writing, art, science, poetry and geography, and even sang a few songs. Goodbye and good luck to all our Year 6 Leavers today. We saw an amazing collection of talent: sporting achievements, sketching, dancing, singing, gymnastics, football skills, drumming, poetry, keyboard, guitar playing and even a few comedy routines. Many memories.
Thank you to all Parents and Carers who came along to see their final Wellgate performance. The Year 6 pupils had an amazing time at Barnsley SuperBowl on Monday to celebrate their time at Wellgate. Take a look at the photos to see what they all got up to.
