Complaints Procedure

Parent Concerns

At Wellgate our aim is for all children that attend our school feel welcome, safe and accepted.
We do appreciate that there are times where Parents/Carers may feel that there are incidents/concerns that need to be raised with the school. We hope these incidents do not occur, but if so Wellgate likes to adapt an open door approach. We will always make time to listen, investigate, resolve and reassure Parents/Carers when any concerns have been raised.

In order to support with this we ask that parents/carers encourage their child/ren to approach a member of the team to address any incidents/concerns immediately.

In instances where this is not appropriate then Wellgate have a complaints procedure to follow.

In the first instance we would ask that a parent/carer initially raises any incidents/concerns directly to their child/ren’s class teacher. These are listed below:
FS1 - Mrs Slater
FS2 - Mrs S.Belt & Mrs McGinn
Yr 1 - Miss M Jarimba, Miss A Richardson &  Miss J Gillott
Yr 2 -  Miss P Nowshirvani & Mr B. Steeples
Yr 3 - Mr A Hunt & Mrs Binns-Alexander
Yr 4 - Mr C Hawley & Mrs Woodcock/Mrs C Lee
Yr 5 - Mr C Fieldsend & Mrs B Larkin/Mrs S Thornton
Yr 6 - Mrs Mengoni & Mrs Elliott

If after raising your concerns with your child/ren’s class teacher you still feel that this has not been addressed correctly, we then ask the incident/concern with your child/ren’s phase leader as listed below:
EYFS - Mrs S Belt
KS1 -   Miss P Nowshirvani
KS2 - Mrs J Woodcock

In the unfortunate event that a successful resolution has not been reached after this stage of the process the incident/concern will be raised with either Mrs Johnstone (Head Teacher) or Mrs K Richardson (Deputy Teacher).

If you feel that you wish to raise a concern about the School or the Head teacher these can be directed to the chair of governors Mrs L Hay via the main school office.
