Welcome to Wellgate Primary

Wellgate Primary School is a 3-11 primary and nursery school with approximately 450 pupils, serving a fantastic community in Mapplewell.  We are proud to be a part of Every Child Matters Trust.
~
At Wellgate, we celebrate our "one life" and explicitly teach how to live it well! The Year of 2024-2025 is "The Year of GROWTH" with the introduction of a new Headteacher (Mrs Lauren Johnstone) and a focus on a relentless pursuit for excellence and happiness for all.
~
At Wellgate, our classrooms are led by compassionate, enthusiastic, and highly skilled educators who value the development and wellbeing of each child under their supervision. We cherish and appreciate the distinctiveness of each of our students and strive to assist them in growing confidently and flourishing in their unique identity.
~
Our exceptional staff team has designed a knowledge-rich curriculum that is tailored to meet the needs of our Wellgate Primary School community. We are immensely proud of this curriculum as it facilitates the development of our students into articulate communicators, avid readers, and socially inclusive individuals with impeccable behaviour.
~
Children spend their days developing new language and exploring and engaging in new experiences through awe and wonder.
Our expert teachers meticulously plan and sequence every subject area in the curriculum, with the students' interests and needs at the heart of every decision.
~
This unique curriculum, coupled with our dedication to creating joyful and healthy individuals, equips Wellgate children with the knowledge, abilities, and confidence required not only to excel in their education but to flourish throughout their adult lives.
~
We highly recommend visiting our wonderful school. To arrange a visit, please contact our welcoming school office staff on 01226 383739
