In order to maintain a strong sense of identity and belonging within our school, we require all pupils to wear school uniform which consists of:
Our uniform has been kept simple to avoid unnecessary expense. We expect all pupils to follow the dress code as written above.
Uniform PE Kit
During Physical Education lessons, the correct uniform should be worn which consists of;
Gymnastics / Dance / Indoor PE
Boys –
Boys and Girls –
Our expectation is that all children from FS1 through to year 6 attend school daily following our dress code.

- Red Sweatshirt (with or without the Wellgate logo on )
- Red jumper or cardigan (with or without the Wellgate logo on )
- Black Wellgate hoodie (a new addition to school upon request by the children)
- White Shirt
- Red or White Polo Shirt
- Grey trousers or black trousers (smart, leggings or joggers) - must be plain with no logos
- Grey or black skirt
- Grey or black Pinafore
- Black, flat sensible, safe, shoes or black trainers (must be plain black with no coloured logos)
- Grey or black shorts of an appropriate length with no logos
- Gingham dresses (checked) – Red
- Any cap to protect from the sun

- White T-shirt
- Black or navy shorts or cycling shorts
- White T-shirt
Boys and Girls –
- Black or navy jogging bottoms
- Black or navy Jumper
- White T-shirt
- Trainers which support children’s ankles
Our expectation is that all children from FS1 through to year 6 attend school daily following our dress code.
It is already a known fact that children can quickly outgrow their school uniforms - usually before they are worn out.
Friends of Wellgate (FOW) keep a stock of nearly new school uniform and PE kit, and other school items all of which are available for free.
So if you have school uniform that your kids have out-grown, no longer use or have never worn, or if you are looking for a second-hand school uniform for your child, please pop into the office and let the office staff know and they will direct you to where they are stored.
