Last half term, we enjoyed a careers event in school. We had lots of visitors who told us about their jobs, how they got into their jobs and the skills and qualities needed. It was a very informative morning and everyone had a great time. Young Voices was a huge success this year. Our choir enjoyed their annual trip to Young Voices. They worked incredibly hard all day and represented the school well. We hope anyone watching had an amazing time too. Today we say goodbye and good luck to our very own super hero, Mr Woodcock.
After over 12 years as part of our team, he has decided it is time to embark on new adventures. We wish him all the very best for the future. Lots of Love from Buzz Lightyear (Mr Hawley) and all of Team Wellgate. Last week the children really enjoyed their Christmas Dinner. Look at the smiles on their faces while wearing their festive outfits.
Our very talented children in Key Stage 1 were amazing this week during their Christmas performances of ‘The Nativity’. They wowed their audiences with their wonderful singing, acting and dancing – we are incredibly proud of them all. Take a look at some photographs below: Today we said goodbye and good luck to one of our fabulous kitchen team Mrs Harford. She has worked in the kitchen at Wellgate for 14 years making tasty meals and yummy puddings. Mrs Harford will be missed but we wish her well with her new adventure.
Your kindness never fails to amaze us and once again you have gone above and beyond in donating food and essentials for the foodbank scheme as part of our Harvest Festival.
Thank you for your support with this initiative; we are sure that your donations will be much appreciated by the families in need. The children enjoyed celebrating Harvest with Father Tim who delivered assemblies to all year groups this week and also learning Harvest songs within singing assemblies. This Friday, we will be waving goodbye to Mrs Hanwell and Mrs Barker. They have both been part of the Wellgate family, as amazing teaching assistants, for over 20 years and have thoroughly enjoyed their role. It is amazing to think of the children's lives that have been in influenced by these brilliant women. Mrs BarkerMrs HanwellWe are also saying a fond farewell to Miss Parker, who is our Year 3 teacher. We wish her well as she moves on to an new adventure of running her own business. As well as this, we are also saying goodbye to Mrs Parkin, our brilliant PSA and attendance officer, who has been an essential part of Team Wellgate for 10 years. We wish her lots of luck as she moves on to pastures new at a local secondary school. Mrs ParkinMiss ParkerWe would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the time, effort and dedication that has been given to the children and families over this time.
