Both Year 3 and Year 5 enjoyed their Hinduism Workshop last week. First, they listened to some stories from the religion and were able to share the knowledge that they already had from their own R.E lessons.
Then, they found out more about the main Hindu deities and their wives. After, they talked about Ganesh and learned a dance to help them remember important facts about him. The next bit was super fun! They learnt how to do a stick dance. They practised with their hands first and then tried it with the real sticks! They were really good at remembering the steps. Then, it was time to explore! They looked at some of the toys and dolls which represent the key figures from Hinduism. They also had chance to dress up in some of the saris and head dresses. They even had chance to wear bindi to make their outfits look more special. At the end of the session, they were able to buy their own diva lamp. Each one was unique and beautifully made. Have a look at some amazing photos from the day.
