Just look at the incredible entries to the Decorated Egg Competition that we held in school yesterday. Mrs James, one of our School Governors, thoroughly enjoyed judging them all but she found it very tricky due to the amazing effort with ALL entries. Well done to every person that entered the competition - you should be very proud of yourself.

Earlier this week, Year Four and Year Six had a very informative visit from Lekchog from the Kadampa Meditation Centre. The children learnt how to meditate using the correct position, the purpose of a shrine and the offerings that are made to Buddha. They shared their knowledge with Lekchog and even acted out the life story of Prince Siddhartha. Have a look at some photos of the fabulous learning that look place.
Last week, it was World Book Day and Wellgate celebrated the day in style. Throughout the day, children had fun dressing as their favourite book characters (or word) , showed off their costumes in assemblies and completed exciting learning about different books and had some fantastic book talk! Throughout the day, classes were treated to visitors coming to read to them. Mrs James (our fantastic governor) read a poetry tasting menu to Year 4. Our brilliant Y5/6 reading ambassadors shared stories with KS1. Plus all across school, children enjoyed virtual author visits from best selling authors including Lisa Thompson, Helen Rutter, George Webster and even Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler!
Earlier this term, children from Year 6 to reception were put through their paces by Paralympic Tennis player Antony Cotterill and Sportivator Shaun as part of our Sports For Schools Morning. The children had an amazing time completing their fitness circuits before listening to the inspirational story behind Antony's journey to becoming a Paralympian. We would like to say thankyou for the support and generosity shown throughout the whole school community in raising an amazing £3189.73 for us to purchase new equipment following consultation with the School Council. Please take a look at the some of the action photos below from each year group and thank you once again. Year 6Year 5Year 4Year 3Year 2 Year 1FS2 |
