It has been hard work discovering how bodies are structured, what bones and muscles do and which foods help to help us grow and stay healthy. Why not ask your child what their favourite moment from this topic has been?

Year 3 recently learnt first hand what it means to be on strike on 'The Day the Year 3 Chairs Quit'. A day in which the children were completely shocked to find out that their chairs had gone on strike. See the photos below of the absolutely outstanding letters of negotiation your amazing children have written to their chairs to convince them to return. An awesome mix of persuasive devices, emotionally evocative language and well thought out arguments. Year 3 are incredibly proud of their persuasive writing - and their teachers are too. It is superb. Year 3 had the best time celebrating World Book Day 2024. The children arrived bright and early at school eager to read, dressed as characters from their favourite books or representing a cool and interesting word. We had an amazing day, reading new stories, writing thoughts and speeches for new characters and sharing our reading wishes and ambitions for the future. We even met the author of the 'InvestiGators' John Patrick Green who showed the children how to illustrate his famous book characters; Brash and Mango. Take a look at the awesome photos below to see the fun we had.

The children in Year 3 have worked hard this half term to write their own versions of Jack and the Beanstalk. They had to put themselves into the Giant's shoes and explain what really happened. Once they had finished their stories, the children visited the Year 1 and 2 classrooms to read their twisted tales to their audience. All the children wrote fantastic stories and really enjoyed sharing them with other children in school. Why not ask your child to tell you how they twisted their fairytale?
