This Friday, we will be waving goodbye to Mrs Hanwell and Mrs Barker. They have both been part of the Wellgate family, as amazing teaching assistants, for over 20 years and have thoroughly enjoyed their role. It is amazing to think of the children's lives that have been in influenced by these brilliant women.
We are also saying a fond farewell to Miss Parker, who is our Year 3 teacher. We wish her well as she moves on to an new adventure of running her own business. As well as this, we are also saying goodbye to Mrs Parkin, our brilliant PSA and attendance officer, who has been an essential part of Team Wellgate for 10 years. We wish her lots of luck as she moves on to pastures new at a local secondary school.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the time, effort and dedication that has been given to the children and families over this time. We wish you all well for your new adventures!
Take a journey into the depths of Sherwood Forest and discover the hilarious truth behind the legend of Robin Hood. When the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and his gormless guards threaten the villagers of Sherwood, feisty Maid Marion hires a band of freedom fighters for protection. But when Robin and his Merry Men arrive, she soon discovers they're not exactly what she'd ordered! With no time to lose, she persuades these hapless heroes to take centre stage for the performance of their lives - if only they could stick to the script!
Audiences followed the most outrageous outlaws in history on their side-splitting, action-packed adventure to defeat the dastardly Sheriff. They stormed Nottingham Castle, rescued Maid Marion and overthrew King John - all without laddering their tights!
A huge well done to the Y6 pupils for their superb acting skills in this year’s performance of Robin Hood and the Sherwood Hoodie. All of the children worked extremely hard to learn their lines, stage directions and dance moves. We also had lots of hard work and dedication off stage with children working on props, lighting and music. The Year 5 pupils learnt and performed the songs and dance moves perfectly – well done Year 5!Take a look at the photos to see how amazing the performances were. edit. to
