Mrs C Egginton - Headteacher
Hello my name is Mrs Egginton and I am proud to be the Headteacher of Wellgate Primary School. This year I have started my tenth year as part of Team Wellgate and I am looking forward to welcoming and getting to know our new families this year.
If I had to describe myself in three words it would be positive, caring and bothered. This also links with what I enjoy most about Education - the positive impact it can have on a child’s life. A good school experience can change the lives and expand horizons for the young people it serves, seeing this is the most amazing thing ever. I also love to see the uniqueness of every child and how they grow and change over their time in Primary School. I feel so proud when they leave Wellgate at Year 6, ready to fly and take on the next stage in their lives.
Team Wellgate work extremely hard to ensure that learning is exciting, fun and memorable. Whatever our role in school and however old we may be we are all learners. I enjoy learning new things especially anything practical, I learn through doing and hands on…I have recently enjoyed learning to Paddle Board this summer, although it is so much harder than it looks! I would love to learn how to plaster a wall…random but true!
When I am not working my hobbies include, shopping…for shoes, reading and being in the great outdoors. I nearly forgot my seasonal hobby, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’!
I am really looking forward to this year and wish everyone at Wellgate Good Luck for the 2023 – 2024 school year!
