Welcome to Class 5AH -
Team Courageous

In 5AH, we want to be kind and helpful children who always try our best. We want to create a calm, peaceful and positive classroom environment to work in. We want to ensure we are always respectful and polite to others. We want to be the best learners we can possibly be and produce outstanding pieces of work which we can all be proud of. We know we will all make mistakes sometimes but that is OK because we will learn from those mistakes.

Meet the Team

Mr Hunt - Class Teacher
Hello, my name is Mr Hunt and I am delighted to be teaching Team Courageous in Year 5 this year. This will be my fifth year working as a teacher (my 3rd in Year 5) and I have been lucky enough to spend all five years of my teaching career at Wellgate. I am looking forward to being able to help the class grow both as learners and individuals. One of my favourite things is sport. My favourite sport to watch is football (especially The Mighty Leeds United) – I also love watching rugby, cricket and Formula 1. I love lots of different music but I am most likely to be heard singing anything by Oasis (very badly may I add). I also love travelling and want to continue to visit new and exciting places both in the UK and abroad.

Mrs Littledyke - Class Teaching Assistant

Hello my name is Mrs Littledyke and I am lucky enough to be one of the Year 5 Teaching Assistants. I am a kind,  caring and funny person who loves to learn new things. In fact, I think you should learn something new every day. Each day working with children is rewarding and I absolutely love the individuality of every child. My biggest inspiration is my Grandad. He was an amazing man with a fabulous outlook on life. I love to read and my favourite book is Peace at Last. I also love visiting Scotland – I adore it!

Mrs Bedford - Class Teaching Assistant

I’m incredibly organised and determined – this helps me thoroughly in my role as a teaching assistant. I’ve worked hard to achieve the qualifications that I have and that is something that I’m really proud of – I’m able to share my work ethic and thirst for knowledge with the children that I work with whilst supporting them in being successful in their learning. I really enjoy seeing children achieve their milestones.
I love reading and being with my family. I would really like to learn more about science and one day, I would really like to be able to speak Spanish. I think Manchester is an exciting city and if my family weren’t close by, that is somewhere I would like to live.
My favourite ice-cream flavour is chocolate and I love eating this when I visit the cinema.
