We had lots of fun at our Autumn disco. During the day, we made our own pumpkins, tried to rescue the spiders from a web and created our own art using pasta.

The children in Reception have enjoyed thinking about seasonal change and exploring signs of Autumn. They took their Autumn treasure bags home and brought them back to school full of exciting things. They explored the shape and texture of the things they found and used their fine motor skills to pick them up carefully. The children in Foundation 2 have been finding out how to look after their teeth this week. We had a visit from one of the school nursing team who showed us how to brush out teeth properly and reminded us to brush our tongues as well. We have been practicing cleaning our giant teeth in the classroom. Ask your child what they know about how to keep their teethy healthy. Can they remember what plaque is? This morning, the children in F2SB/JBA took their families on a journey through their Reception year. They shared their favourite places to learn in our provision. They wowed us with their amazing singing and confidence in front of an audience. The Foundation 2 Team are very proud of them all. Take a look at the photos below. This morning, the children in F2KM showcased their amazing learning during their class assembly. We are sure you would agree they did a brilliant job speaking confidently and singing beautifully in front of the audience. We are all very proud of them! The children in FS2 have had a wonderful sports day today. They have enjoyed the morning races and we hope you did too. This afternoon, the children have also taken part in some super sports activities. Take a look at the photos below:-
The children in F2 are reading The Enormous Turnip. We have been exploring using our senses are range of different types of root vegetable alongside our focus story. We then began to use the vegetables to create pattern printing. Ask your child to tell you all about the vegetables they used.

The children have loved sharing their favourite stories with their friends and listening to a range of other stories over the course of the day. The children in Foundation 2 enjoyed practicing our cutlery skills as we celebrated Pancake Day. We learned how to use knives carefully to slice our fruit, then ate our pancakes using a knife and fork. Look at the photos to see how hard we were concentrating. We explored a range of fruit and described their texture. We used magnifying glasses to investigate where the seeds were. We had lots of fun this week exploring ice and learning about Polar habitats. Have a look at some of the habitats we made using loose parts and polystyrene. |
