Last half term, Year 2 had an amazing time in their gymnastics lessons! Each week, the children explored different ways to move and balance, building their confidence and skills along the way.
One of the highlights was using the apparatus. The children loved climbing, jumping, and balancing on the equipment, testing their strength and coordination. It was wonderful to see them challenge themselves and support each other as they tackled different movements. Throughout the term, Year 2 focused on three key gymnastics skills: curling, arching, and stretching. They experimented with curling their bodies into small shapes, arching their backs like gymnasts in action, and stretching their arms and legs to create long, elegant lines. These movements helped improve their flexibility and control, and they had so much fun trying out new poses and sequences! It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and determination of every child. Whether they were balancing on a beam, stretching into a star shape, or arching their backs like bridges, they gave it their all and showed great progress.
