Welcome to Class 4BC/JW - Team Determined

We believe that it is incredibly important to try our absolute best at all times. We will also make sure that we are always honest, polite and positive to everyone else because we are a team. We will make sure that we are respectful to everyone and everything in the classroom. Finally, we will always support and help each other by sharing our things and expertise.

Mrs Woodcock - Class Teacher
I thoroughly enjoy my job as a teacher. I love seeing lightbulb moments in the children that I teach, sharing knowledge with them and supporting them in their learning. I’m thoughtful, hardworking and determined and I believe that all these qualities support me in my role.
I have two young boys who I’m incredibly proud of – I absolutely love being a mum! In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new places with my family, playing games and eating. My absolute favourite food in the whole wide world is pizza and my favourite type of ice-cream is Ben and Jerry’s Cookie Dough.
I would love to be able to speak a different language fluently or play a musical instrument. My life is incredibly busy at the moment but one day hopefully I’ll have the time to achieve one of these things.

Mr Cronin - Class Teacher
I am a patient, enthusiastic and optimistic person. I particularly enjoy teaching Primary Education as it allows all children access to a variety of activities and experiences which help to target particular talents or interests. I am a firm believer that all children deserve to right to the plethora of experiences that Primary Education allows. My hobbies are singing and playing my guitar (which I taught myself at the late age of eighteen and have loved ever since). I grew up in the town of Loughborough in the East Midlands (most notably known for ‘The Sockman’ statue in the town centre. I became an indoctrinated Yorkshireman when I went to university and have remained here ever since. My favourite children’s books are ‘Skellig’ by David Almond and ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’ by Michael Morpurgo. Both stories give very different reactions for children reading them for the first time.

Mrs Eaton - Teaching Assistant
I absolutely love my job – it brings a smile to my face every single day. I love working with children and supporting them in everything that they do. I’m often told that I’m an incredibly kind and caring person and I believe that this helps me in the job that I do.
I have two daughters who I’m incredibly proud of. I love spending time with them and my husband in Scotland which is my favourite place on the planet and it also sells the most amazing ice – cream (Cream O’Galloway Chocolate Orange).
I didn’t used to enjoy doing maths but Mrs Woodcock has changed that and I absolutely love it now. I really enjoy supporting children in their maths learning – especially those who find it tricky as I understand how they might be feeling.
My favourite ever children’s book is ‘Peace At Last’ which is about a family of bears.

Mrs Bedford - Teaching Assistant
I’m incredibly organised and determined – this helps me thoroughly in my role as a teaching assistant. I’ve worked hard to achieve the qualifications that I have and that is something that I’m really proud of – I’m able to share my work ethic and thirst for knowledge with the children which I work with whilst supporting them in being successful in their learning. I really enjoy seeing children achieve their milestones.
I love reading and being with my family. I would really like to learn more about science and one day, I would really like to be able to speak Spanish. I think Manchester is an exciting city and if my family weren’t close by, that is somewhere I would like to live.
My favourite ice-cream flavour is chocolate and I love eating this when I visit the cinema.

Science - Living things, classification, environments and teeth
History - Roman Empire and its impact on Britain
Geography - Location of European and British cities, Roman roads and using atlases and maps
Art & Design - Artefact sketching, clay lamps (on trip)
Design Technology (DT) - Chariots
Religious Education (RE) - Christianity
Computing - The Internet, Repetition in shapes
Physical Education (PE) - Invasion Games - hockey, Dance - Roman style
Music - Interesting time signatures and Combining elements to make music
Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHEE) - Oral hygiene, Managing feelings, Mental health, Relationships, Self worth and Self Respect
