Goodbye and good luck to all our Year 6 Leavers today. We saw an amazing collection of talent: sporting achievements, sketching, dancing, singing, gymnastics, football skills, drumming, poetry, keyboard, guitar playing and even a few comedy routines. Many memories.
Thank you to all Parents and Carers who came along to see their final Wellgate performance.

In D&T, Year 6 have been learning about textiles and have designed their very own pencil cases. First, the children needed to create a design criteria for their chosen audience- 10 year olds transitioning to secondary school. Then, the children needed to create designs that appealed to that audience and were functional and appealing. After practicing their whip stich, back stich and blanket stich, children then used all they had learned to create their pencil cases. Finished Product sIn Year 6 this term, children have been combining their computing and D&T learning to create fairground rides that are controlled by a computer program. In computing, children have been using Crumbles to explore the concept of selection in programming. They have used a microcontroller (Crumble ) and learned how to connect and program it to control components ( e.g. lights, motors, buzzers). The children then designed, wrote the code and then assembled a working model of a fairground ride.
