Wellgate Primary PTA

How does it work?

The PTA currently is run by a core of volunteers who regularly attend the PTA meetings and help to organise events led by Mrs Kirkman and Miss Wilkinson. There is no formal committee and so everyone is free to contribute as little or as much as they like as infrequently or as often as they like.

PTA Meetings

Meetings are held each half term after school. Anyone is invited to come along to any of the meetings whether it's simply to listen to what's going on, express an opinion, make a suggestion, volunteer to help or become a member of the committee.

Volunteering

If you would like to help the PTA then please get in touch. We are always happy to welcome new volunteers and appreciate all the help that we get.

How to Help

Use our webshop

If you shop online at stores such as Amazon, Tesco and M&S then click through to these stores via either of our webshops at www.easyfundraising.co.uk It means that you still get to shop at your favourite stores and we get to earn a commission. Easy!

Support fund-raising initiatives

You could bake some buns or biscuits to bring along to the cake sale, sponsor your child to tackle the bouncy assault course or buy a school calendar. These are all simple ways of playing a part in the fund-raising process.

Volunteer at PTA events

You could serve drinks at the school disco, organise a coffee morning or supervise the sponsored bounce. You could get your children involved too and run a stall at the Christmas / Summer Fair together as the children love playing at being 'shopkeeper' for the day. Whatever it is, every little counts and is appreciated.

Provide new ideas

If you have any new ideas for raising funds or just for getting together and having a good time then please let us know. We are always on the look out for new things to try.

Can You Help?

If you would like to become more involved with the PTA, whether it's simply joining our social evenings, coming up with ideas or helping out at events then please get in touch. You can either leave a note in the PTA Comment Box in the school foyer or speak to one of our PTA volunteers.

We have had great successes with our projects and we were able to:

  • Buy a digital camera for each year group
  • Buy a digital Video Camera for the school
  • Fund part of the Wild Wood developments
  • Buy books for school
  • Subsidise the fees of a school trip for years 4, 5 and 6. We will ensure this will benefit all year groups in the coming years
  • Purchase a polytunnel for the school, which will be set up in the summer term of 2011
  • Buy 15 laptops for the children in school to use in lesson time

Events Timetable

Annual events usually consist of a Christmas and summer fayre.

Summer fayre this year will be held on:

Saturday 11th June 11am - 2pm

Everyone is welcome!!!
